A300 FAV

The A300 is HaasCorp's venture into the fleet support/resupply vessel category. Noting that this type of vessel is often the target of enemy or pirate attention, HaasCorp have made sure that even a lone A300 has a chance of fighting it's way free of ambush, although normal operational procedures would dictate a heavy escort for this type of vessel.

Although it can be viewed primarily as an armed transport ship, the A300 is more than simply a cargo hauler. It is equipped with an extending magfield arrangement, large enough to contain a 50mx15mx15m volume, on its port side. This assembly is designed to be able to enclose a damaged area of a ship's hull for field repairs (say to a significant hull breach) prior to being able to return the damaged vessel to a full dry dock facility for a more thorough refit via hyperspace. Naturally the equipment is more than adequate for the full repair of more minor damage, enabling ships to be returned to active service far faster than if they have to be returned to a star dock.

The ship is armed with a dorsal turbolaser turret mount, together with a pair of ventral quad laser turrets. A small ventral hanger bay is capable of operating up to 6 starfighters in the A200/X-wing size class.

Notes: The passenger complement should be viewed as the engineering and resupply staff, rather than passengers as such. The crew complement (40+4) is that required to run the ship itself, they do not contribute to any of the operational engineering functions (although in an emergency the ships engineering staff may well assist in the repair of a damaged vessel). The large stock of specialised engineering equipment carried on the A300 provides +2D to any Repair roll pertaining to any type of starship, whilst it is docked with the A300. Whenever the magfield is deployed, shields cannot be raised in the left arc of the ship because of the interference caused by the extension of the magfield's containment arms.
