What's New

Here's what's shakin' at Elrood Sector. I'm going to do my best to keep this site popping, with hopefully a new Tale added every month, along with related entries in the Sourcebook. Also, new illustrations might make their way into the older files, and so I will announce those here as well. So here's the news, with the most recent at the top...

06.11.03 - I've added a great new sector map to the Astrography chapter.

05.27.03 - Tonight, Tales of the Freespirit reached it's conclusion with Episode XXV - Tale's End.

After running the campaign for six years, I have now seen these player's characters, that we've all grown to love, roll their last die. It's been a hell of a ride, and I just want to thank Johnny 'Resh' Hartmann, John 'Avery' Arnold, and Sean 'Itar' Thompson for being such great players. Also, I want to thank everyone who's ever read a Tale of the Freespirit for their encouragement and enthusiasm.

The campaign is over. Now, it's time to finish writing the Tales! I only hope that you, the readers, will enjoy reading them as much as my players and I enjoyed playing them...

03.24.03 - Added a Sourcebook entry for The Wayward Bantha, a bar from Episode VIII.

03.22.03 - Episode VIII - Heroes' Welcome is now online. Enjoy!

03.08.03 - The downloadable version of the Tales of the Freespirit Space Combat Game is finally here! Head on over to the Downloads section to pick it up. After you've had a good look, why not come and join the discussion going on right here?

02.19.03 - Now's the time for YOU to let me know what I should be working on around here! Please take a second and vote in my HoloNet poll, right here. Vote for as many different options as you'd like!

01.21.03 - Happy New Year! I've added a few updates today, which are actually sneak peeks into the upcoming Episode VIII - Hero's Welcome. These are the smuggler Deladra Hessist, the Force-user Rote, and details on his species, the Amphibors.

12.24.02 - As a little gift for Christmas eve, I've added Amanda Price's great illustrations to Episode VII

10.18.02 - After plenty of hard work, the Tales of the Freespirit Space Combat Game is finally here, sporting a beautiful cover painting by Peter Schlough! Ready to be dropped into your Star Wars RPG campaign, or played by itself, the Basic rules set is online, and ready to be tested by YOU! Once you've had a look, come on and join the discussion...

10.17.02 - Peeper's conversion of Dot, everybody's favourite hot-rod droid, has hit the d20 page. Check 'im out!

09.12.02 - Jake Sunspot's conversions for Stav Pollos, Binoshi Assassins, and the Binoshi themselves have been added to the d20 page. Enjoy!

09.10.02 - Episode VII - All the Wrong People is now online! Accompanied by new sourcefiles and art, this Episode covers a major milestone in the Tales of the Freespirit, and is told from the view of Avery Kranzt. Enjoy, and why not vote in this poll, and that poll?!?

08.22.02 - The d20 section of the site is expanding... check it out!

05.21.02 - Episode VI - Upside Downtime, and its attendant sourcefiles, are here! I'm very happy to be returning to the Tales of the Freespirit after so long a hiatus, and hope you enjoy this latest installment. And speaking of the Tales of the Freespirit, please take a moment and come vote in the Holonet poll I have running. You can find it here!

05.10.02 - A new chapter has been added to the Sourcebook! Chapter 2: Alien Species is now online, featuring Episode V's Torines, an Elrood species mentioned by WEG, but never described. Accompanied by a beautiful illustration by Amanda Price!

05.01.02 - Elrood sector is now d20 compatible! There're only stats for three starships up right now, but please c'mon in and check 'em out. If you're a d20 gamer, and know how to convert D6, I'd love to feature your conversions here, as well... mail me!

02.17.02 - Well, I'm back in town, and ready to start getting the sector rolling once again! Just a small 'warm-up' today, I've added a rating and comment form to the main page. Use it!

09.04.01 - Artist Bob Rodgers has just come up with this very nice picture of the frozen world of Lanthrym.

09.03.01 - A relatively invisible update, I've made all the pictures in the site link to the Art Credits page, so readers can find out faster who's responsible for their favourite illustrations.

08.22.01 - My apologies for the general craziness around here! However, it hasn't been without its rewards... Elrood Sector is now being hosted by Starwars-rpg.net! I'm quite excited about this new change, and to celebrate, I'd like to share with you some brand new illustrations! That's right, debut Elrood artist Paul Swain has created some fabulous new character portraits of the heroes of the Freespirit campaign, Avery, Itar, and Resh! In addition to this, I'd like to treat you to Paul's sneak-preview illustration of Marzo Doole, a Kubaz Dark Jedi who'll be plaguing our heroes in the future...

06.29.01 - Back in '99, at the height of Phantom Menace fever, I wrote this goofy little faux-editorial called 'I Knew Jar Jar Before He Was 'All That''. I've never really found a place for it, and so have decided to include it here. It's my first (and only) piece of humour writing, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Be warned, however - if you're offended by strong language and adult situations, you might want to give it a pass...

06.23.01 - "RAID!" - I've added a nasty insect to the Creatures page, Episode V's Almaran Bloodfly.

06.19.01 - Added a great new illustration by Bob Rodgers of the independent space station Almar Upside.

06.13.01 - A new illustrator has joined the Elrood Sector family! He hails from France, his name is Guillaume Menuel, and his first contribution to this site is a stirring picture of the vicious Horok.

05.23.01 - Elrood Sector is pleased to announce the arrival of a new artist! The work of Bob Rodgers can now be found gracing Episode V. In addition, a new illustration, the 'Kaggle Fighter', can be found in the Starships section.

02.02.01 - The Sourcebook entries on Episode V's Binoshi Assassins and their vibroglaives are online, with art included! More on the way...

02.01.01 - Episode V - Six Degrees is now online! This Episode is currently submitted to the Starwars-rpg.net Fan Fiction contest, at the Holonet. To reach the story, simply follow the link above, then follow the link in the post you've just been taken to. If you enjoy it, feel free to give me a vote! If you'd like to discuss the Episode, you can come on down to the Elrood Sector forum at the Holonet. This is the first Episode to be written in screenplay format, so I'd really like to hear your opinions on it. Stay tuned for all the related Sourcebook entries, coming soon!

01.01.01 - I've just downloaded the freeware 3D modeling program 'Blender', so I thought I'd get my hands dirty and try to make something, the result of which is an illustration of the planet Dega. Look for more 3D images as soon as I figure it all out!

11.25.00 - Added Ubiqtorate's review of Episode I - Discovery.

11.15.00 - At last! After lots of work and time, Episode IV is here... featuring a great new illustration by Allan Whincup! New art by Amanda Price has been added to Episode III, as well as the Sourcebook entries on Anybody and Grakkata. New sections covering equipment and starships have opened up, the characters and locations pages are updated, and a new poll has been added to the front page. Enjoy!

9.22.00 - Well, have I got a smile on MY face! The good people at Star Wars RPG Reviewed Sites have seen fit to bestow upon me their Award for Outstanding Excellence! If you'd like to read their reviews, check 'em out here:

http://starwars-rpg.net/reviewedsites/reviews_a-f.html#e

As a new webmaster, it really is an honour to have my material placed in a league with that of the other authors and webmasters whose websites bear this mark. Particularly since Elrood Sector has only been active a short time, and can't yet compete with the more established sites when it comes to sheer volume of material. However, it won't always be so... the 'Tales of the Freespirit' campaign is still running. I estimate it will conclude around Episode XXX (we're on XIX, now), and the Sourcebook will get fatter along with each new chapter! There's literally miles to go, and I hope you sw-rpg enthusiasts will stick with me along the way.

Many thanks to Ben, Chris and Dean for the great review, their support, and enthusiasm. I'll display your banner with pride, guys!

8.28.00 - Armage Bedar and the good people over at Starwars-rpg.net have seen fit to give me my own Elrood Sector discussion forum over at the Holonet! Come on down to hear about updates to this site, trade info, or discuss your own gaming group's adventures in Elrood Sector!

8.14.00 - I'm officially online today! Have a look around, sign the guestbook (note - guestbook removed since), and enjoy yourself! A big thank you goes out to everyone whose efforts played a part in the creation of this site!

7.15.00 - Ok, after three days online at the wonderful world of Geocities, I've decided it would be easier to photocopy my web pages and carry them around to everyone personally! Sayonara, Yahoo! I'm off in search of a real server...

7.12.00 - Well, I'm here... unofficially. This being my first site and all, I thought I'd try to get online and see if there were any bugs to work out - boy, are there ever! None of my buttons or banners seem to have the text I put into them! Plus, it looks like I'm gonna have to shell out some dough to have my domain name point to this site... man, if it isn't one thing, it's another! Hopefully, I'll have everything fixed (not to mention, completed), before someone accidentally stumbles onto this place...
