G48 Heavy Transport

The G48 Heavy Transport was originally designed as a transport capable of carrying dangerous prisoners to their place of incarceration. It is fitted with 12 chairs designed to confine a prisoner beyond any means of escape. These chairs lock the lower legs in fixed Durasteel boots. Hands and forearms are restrained by gauntlets integral to the seats. Locking straps secure the prisoner at waist, chest and throat. Additionally the throat strap incorporates a stun device capable of rendering a struggling prisoner unconscious.

The G48 sees most of its use in the Corporate Sector. The G48 has also been converted to function as a secure transport for valuable or otherwise sensitive goods. There has also been some limited use in the Mid-Rim, but it is almost never seen outside the bounds of Law enforcement organisations.

For such a large vehicle the G48 is far sleeker than would be expected. The front slopes from the roof of the vehicle to its base and is slightly tapered. The turrets are recessed into the roof so that only the gunner's upper body can be seen above the top of the vehicle. Access to the passenger/cargo compartment is via a set of rear double doors. The G48 is 2.5m high, 8 m long and 2.5 m wide.
