The
Hammer
The
Hammer was amongst the first YVG Corvettes to be purchased by the Empire
and like the others that were bought in her batch, the Hammer's main cargo
hold was converted into a hangar bay to carry TIE fighters. This involved
the installation of TIE fighter cradle facilities, a small tractor beam
above the hangar bay entrance to help with landing operations, the enlargement
of the hangar bay door and a magcon field generator to cover the hangar
bay's doors. In addition to these modifications, part of the storage bay
that overlooks the cargo bay was converted to serve as the hangar bay's
control room and to provide some additional crew quarters. The Quarter
master's office was also modified to serve as the pilot's ready room.
With their recent trip to Starforge Station, the Hammer
has under gone a major refit both internally and externally. This involved
the installation of a tractor beam emplacement and additional crew quarters
in place of the officer's mess and kitchen; the replacement of the forward
ventral turret turbolasers with ion cannons; an engine upgrade and a shield
upgrade.
