Interlude

With their course set for Starforge Station, it was going to be three weeks before they got there. After travelling for a week, the Hammer rendezvoused with the Wild Fire. Kethan and Major Saxs transferred to the Wild Fire so they could attend a meeting with Alliance High Command, whilst the Hammer continued on to Starforge. They also took Vashir with them to hand over to the Alliance. Alyssa, who had been serving with Syl on the Wild Fire for the last month or so, transferred back aboard the Hammer to return to duty. Once the transfers were complete, the two vessels headed their separate ways.

During the trip to Starforge, Kal suggested that they should deactivate the Hammer's transponder code. Otherwise the security forces at Starforge would meet us with the hostility they would show any other Imperial Customs vessel - shooting first and asking questions later. Krib agreed that it would be wise to undertake such a precaution and promptly deactivated it in time for their arrival.

Alyssa is back aboard the Hammer after a month or so without her. I've given her a full medical and some psychological tests. She seems to be in good shape both mentally and physically. She doesn't seem as confident as she once was, but I think that's to be expected after what happened and I'm sure it will return in time.

I've advised her to see Krib as soon as she can - she must confront him or things may well fester.

I look forward to seeing Krib in here in the next few days, if he loses his temper that is. I pray he does not, for his own sake and Alyssa's.
