Addendum: Gyer is a busy planet that lies on the Perlemian Trade Route, in the heart of the Darpa sector. The planet is choked with civilisation, leaving little room for nature. The few natural areas are restricted so they may be preserved, whether they be towering mountain ranges, arid deserts, polluted oceans or small forests.

Years of civilisation and pollution have left the planet sick and in dire straits. The seas are thick with pollution; the once massive forests are either dust or very small and can barely sustain the planet's inhabitants; the deserts are ever expanding; and thousands of species of wildlife have been wiped out, with the destruction of their habitats. Only now when it's nearly too late have the people of Gyer started to take action, with new initiatives being launched on a nearly weekly basis. These initiatives are led by SGE (Save Gyer's Environment), a charity whose sole purpose is to save Gyer from its people.

To land on Gyer, your starship must undergo a vigorous emissions test to ensure that vessel will not add to Gyer's problems. This test is an example of SGE's initiatives and is carried out by customs officials.

Due to the planet's polluted atmosphere and low oxygen content, breathers should be worn when not in an environmentally controlled area.
