Addendum: Tinava Prime's surface is made up of two relatively small continents, Listra and Calone, and hundreds of small islands all surrounded by a vast blue ocean. The majority of planet's population live on either Listra or Calone, whilst the islands house the planet's fishermen, fish farms and tourist resorts. Listra is home to the planet's only starport and as a result is also the location of the planet's manufacturing sites and Capital City, Gajan.

Tinava Prime's seafood cuisine is renowned throughout the sector and a typical dish tends to be hot and spicy served with Kye, a yellow grain grown on Calone.

Maritime Endurance Extravaganza

One of the major events in the Tinavan calendar is the Tinava Maritime Endurance Extravaganza. Competitors from aquatic planets all over the sector congregate at Tinava for a week long series of watersports tournaments, covering all aspects of maritime events. The Blue Riband event is the Annual Repulsorlift Boat Race, covering a 24 hour endurance course which takes in over a dozen of the minor islands. As well as navigating the course, competitors (in teams of two to four) must complete events on each of the islands, details of which are only released at the time of arrival at any particular island. Failure to complete a land based task results in a time penalty. There are small (rarely more than 5000 credits) cash prizes at each island, but the winners get to hold the Tinava Tankard and bragging rights in the sector for a whole year. Successful performance usually boosts sales of the winners' choice of repulsorboat, so sponsorship can be quite high and rivalry is intense amongst the major manufacturers. To maintain the original spirit of the Race, there is a special award to the leading free lance entry - a chance to see their design given the full Tinavan Aquamarine treatment, and turned into a limited production run model available to the general populace (at least those with sufficient credits in their pockets). The kudos involved in this has led to many a small time operator being given a big contract by one of the leading manufacturers.
