RRV-1

Aimis developed the RRV-1 (Rapid Response Vessel) to provide fast heavily armed support to local or nearby systems. At eighty meters long, the RRV-1 is heavily armoured and carries an impressive array of equipment.

For propulsion the RRV-1 uses a bank of four NovaBurn CC4 engines, giving the vessel a sublight speed comparable to the Empire's TIE/In and excellent maneuverability. For hyperspace travel RRV-1 uses the advanced AHS P75, which is a Class point seven five hyperdrive and is one of the fastest hyperdrives available on the market.

The RRV-1 is equipped with a pair of double turbolaser turrets and a double ion cannon to deal with capital class starships, and a pair of quad laser turrets to deal with starfighters. The turbolasers are mounted on its port and starboard sides, whilst the ion cannon is positioned below the bridge and the quad laser turrets are on dorsal and ventral surfaces.

RRV-1's perform very well against light capital class vessels, freighters and starfighters. Against larger targets, the RRV-1 begins to struggle and has to rely on its speed and maneuverability to keep it from danger.

The RRV-1 was released a year before the Battle of Yavin and has been quite popular with Empire, particularly in the Inner Rim, which has a much lower Naval presence. The Imperial RRV-1s operate in pairs and are usually based in a system that is relatively close to other systems so that they can cover a wide area with very few vessels.
