Mission History

The Nova Dragons operate from the Shadowport of Drex IV. Their first commission was to run an Imperial blockade to resupply a Rebel outpost. JD Brickman was hired as an extra pair of hands for this mission and joined on a full time basis shortly after its completion.

The success of this operation brought the Nova Dragons to the attention of Pete Chase, a retired merchant, with Rebel sympathies. He commissioned the unit, together with a second freelance unit, The Blades, to rescue his daughter Salean from an Imperial prison transport ship. As well as Salean, the group rescued a number of other Rebel prisoners at the same time. Those Rebels created the Nova Dragon unit symbol at this time as a thank you.

A bodyguard mission on Ord Mantell was one of the early instances where Kethan began to feel the first emergence of his Force powers. Whilst relaxing after this excursion, the unit encountered a Twi'lek named Dev Fort, who hired them for a transport run. Kethan clearly stated that no live (non-consenting, anyway) cargo would be carried. During loading a container required opening, revealing an emaciated group of chained slaves (Raggyrannrr, Kribaczek, Morrez and Grat). Outraged, Chaide stormed out, and only some quick words from Kethan persuaded him to stay. Avoiding a scene at the starport, the Nova Dragons tracked the shipment to its source and stormed the slave camp, freeing the remaining slaves held there and destroying the camp on their departure. Zulah, impressed by the rescue hooked up with the Nova Dragons, as did the 4 slaves from the container.

Wary of working for individuals with no credentials, the next contract was for a planetary government, concerned with a series of mysterious disappearances from their local spacelanes. The Nova Dragons traced the disappearances to a ship haunted by the echoes of a titanic struggle between a Light and a Dark Jedi. By killing a clone of the Dark Jedi and destroying the decaying hulk of a massive ship, the Nova Dragons cleared up the mystery. In the process they recovered the Ice Witch and a pair of lightsabers. Kethan now holds the latter in safekeeping.

Staying with reasonable legitimate lines of business, and with the added cargo capacity of a second ship, the Nova Dragons took on a Bacta shipment for a small Biotech company on Blom III. They encountered a reporter from Thyferra, Vanna Blue on the trip. She paid for passage on the Wild Fire. Her disappearance led to the Nova Dragons stumbling in on a narcotics refining operation. During the rescue, the plant was destroyed. Unbeknownst to the Nova Dragons at that time, the narcotics operation was run by a criminal organisation known as Nexus, the very same group that had been responsible for the slaving operation. Infuriated that the Nova Dragons had shut down two of their operations, Nexus posted a bounty of 10,000 credits a head on the unit.

A hurried escape from Drex IV ensued. In the need for a bolthole, half the unit stumbled across an abandoned Rebel base, whilst hiding in an asteroid base form an Imperial Star Destroyer. It was around this time that Tuska Knoll was encountered. Knowing that the Nova Dragons were down on their luck, and in need of cash, he hired them to hijack a shipment of ion drives from an Imperial freighter.

With the bounty making any semblance of a normal life impossible, the Nova Dragons vowed to track down the head of the Nexus slaving operation in an effort to remove the bounty. With help from Vanna Blue, the slavers were tracked to Ordin. The Imperial garrison captured JD. He was tortured, including the amputation of 4 of his fingers, before they were bribed by Nexus to hand him over. Before they could put JD through any more pain, the Nova Dragons tracked him down and freed him, capturing their original quarries in the process.

Another mission for the Rebels followed, this time to obtain spin sealed Tibanna gas from Cloud City. JD was able to find a surgeon to fit cybernetic replacement fingers. A misunderstanding led to a brush with the local law enforcement. The Nova Dragons are unlikely to return to Cloud City for a while.

A deal was struck with Nexus, leading to the ending of the bounty hunt for the Nova Dragons.

A mysterious rendezvous saw the Nova Dragons chasing across the galaxy to save an unknown planet. Held in the grip of a Dark Jedi, the people were little more than slaves. The combined efforts of Kethan, Kal and JD (all of whom are Force sensitive) was required to defeat the Jedi. The spirit of a Light Jedi revealed himself to Kethan, as his secret mentor, finally deeming Kethan worthy of conscious control of his Force gift.

The Nova Dragons are currently under contract to Baker Corporation, a mining company, on the planet of Cuirass II. This planet is unusual in that unusual atmospheric and gravometric forces render blasters useless. The team has become quite proficient in the use of firearms during their contract. They remain under contract until the resolution of the conflict between Baker corporation and its rival Proll Industries.
