Syl Norn
Of all the current Nova Dragons and crew, I've known none
longer than Syl. Operational reasons dictated that he go on detached duty,
with Grat, but that doesn't mean I don't miss him. He had that uncanny
knack of finding the silver lining when the clouds seemed too dark, not
to mention his first rate piloting (despite the occasional mishap!) and
engineering skills. Still, he has settled into his new role quickly and
will be a great asset to our continuing operations. His ability to range
freely in the Wild Fire will augment Samic's intelligence network, and
we are close to moving into a period where accurate intelligence will
be the difference between success and failure. Between life and death.
I also miss his counsel. Much as I have the Force to aid me, there is
rarely a substitute for a second viewpoint of any issue. Syl was the velvet
glove to Chaide's mailed fist whenever there were issues to resolve amongst
the Dragons that failed to respond to my own style.
